They needlessly point out differences of opinion and interests. Some private schools are able to accomodate children with learning issues smoothly (but be sure to check, because learning issues sometimes don't become apparent until 2nd or 3rd grade.) Private schools provide greater opportunity to specialize whether in art, music, language, or religion. What kind of information might parents like to support them? There are a lot of kids at his school who indulge and he is an athlete and just doesn't want to be around it. It's a terrific school, at a (comparatively!) reasonable price, with small classes and a very welcoming environment on a 4-acre campus.
